White Squirrel Farm was founded in 2013 by partners Chris Winters, Tracy DeLong and their 3 yr old son Winston. As first generation farmers establishing an organic vegetable farm on 2 acres of fallow farmland, we were challenged to the fullest. Instantly, we broke ground and took off running. We made several restaurant accounts and sold produce, herbs and flowers at a farmer’s market our first year. Our first CSA shares were distributed over the Winter of 2013/2014 and we’ve managed a full season vegetable CSA share every year since 2014. 

As naturalists and health advocates, we have grown everything on our farm with the strictest of organic standards since day one. We’ve never felt the need to seek validation from a government agency or accreditation from any organization. The corruption that abounds in most of these systems is off-putting to say the least. Our methods are beyond organic or “more-ganic”, far beyond what is required to get a label from the government. 

Our constant questioning and desire to live up to our convictions led us to commit to a growing standard that did not contribute to the suffering of animals as committed on factory farm and industrial agriculture. Since most “organic” soil amendments are the bi-product of these industries of mass death, we were called to find a way around using the conventional “organic” nutrients. In 2020, we committed to using rock minerals and vegetable waste compost only in our production. Not only does avoiding dead animal products produce cleaner food with nearly zero risk of contamination, it does not carry the energetic burden of fear and suffering. After all, “you are what you eat.” Though it is a more costly method, we had excellent results and our hearts were at peace. 

In 2022, after years of research, we began using the venerable practice of electroculture. Electroculture in short is the agricultural utilization of feeble voltage to stimulate electro-magnetic actions in the soil. These actions catalyze the transmuting of elements within the soil which have an array of benefits.
